Chapter 3
Good and Bad Procrastination
Question 1
Graham gave the advice that you should ask yourself “What’s the best thing you can be working on and why aren’t you doing.” and that you have to procrastinate on the little things and put all of your focus on the big task and I totally agree with him for multiple reasons. First I always find myself laying in my bed on a weeknight and thinking to myself that I could be getting so much work done but for whatever reason I’m just laying in bed and I guarantee that this happens to millions of people each day. I also agree with him that you have to throw aside and procrastinate on the little things in order to make sure the big tasks are done. Whenever I have to do a paper and or study, I always find a million things that I need to get done before I get to the paper finished. Again, this is something we all do, we have to be able to ignore these ‘errands’ and just focus all of your attention at the task and at hand, something that is extremely difficult and requires a lot of skill.

  1. I agree with you procrastination is most people's biggest struggle and I’m saying this as I’m writing this at almost 3am and I also have many other assignments to complete. Getting over the bad habit of procrastinating is hard. I’ve been trying to quit this habit for years and sometimes I do get better at not doing my work at the last minute but sometimes I decide to start a 10 page paper 3 days before it’s due and that’s not fun at all. I consider those to be my very dark times. Learning to prioritize things and not let things just sit around till the last minute is something I really still need to work on and I feel like college will probably be what helps me learn to do this. College is not like high school I can’t be doing things at the last minute and expecting to get good grades.
